THE 2014 season will be a big one for personal milestones at Alberton, with a host of the Power’s young stars set to reach 50, 100 or 150 games.

Cam O’Shea will kick off the year of milestones, playing his 50th game* in Round 4 against Brisbane. Chad Wingard and Matt Lobbe will also reach the same milestone three weeks later against GWS.

The Power’s warrior up forward Jay Schulz will play his 150th game at Adelaide Oval in Round 8 against the Dockers. Justin Westhoff (Round 17 v Richmond), Alipate Carlile (Round 18 v Melbourne) and Travis Boak (Round 20 v Sydney) are others set to reach 150 games in 2014.

Robbie Gray will finally reach 100 games in Round 11 against Melbourne, after a run of injuries cost him games earlier in his career.

If Jackson Trengove can overcome his current knee injury in time for Round 1, he could play his 100th game in Round 23 in Perth against the Dockers. Matthew Broadbent is also in line for his 100th the week before against Carlton.

Tom Jonas will play his 50th in Round 17 against Richmond while a number of other young players are in line to play their 50th game in 2014, if they can cement a spot in the side. Andrew Moore (Round 10 v Hawthorn), Cam Hitchcock (Round 16 v Essendon) and Jasper Pittard (Round 20 v Sydney).

In 2013, just three players reached milestones. Kane Cornes played his 250th game against West Coast in Round 5 and then broke Warren Tredrea’s AFL games record for the club, playing his 256th game against GWS in Round 12. Brad Ebert raised the bat for 100 in Round 2 v GWS while Hamish Hartlett played his 50th AFL game in Round 4 against the Suns.

The club will also celebrate a number of Premiership anniversaries in 2014.

The club will celebrate 10 years since our first AFL Premiership in Round 4 against Brisbane, with a number of activities planned.

It’s 20 years since the incredible come-from-behind win over the Eagles in the 1994 SANFL Grand Final and 60 years since our 1954 flag – the first in an Australian record six in a row.

This year will also mark 100 years since our 1914 invincibles won the Premiership and Champions of Australia trophy against Carlton. Finally, it is the 130th anniversary of our first ever Premiership back in 1884.
