JARED POLEC was substituted from Saturday night's 70-point win over St Kilda, but remains a chance to line up against the Swans at the SCG next week.

Port Adelaide's playmaking midfielder left the ground in the first term after rolling an ankle in a marking contest, returning to influence the game significantly in the second and third quarters before being subbed out of the match.

Report: Power keeps record intact

It's a similar circumstance to his skipper Travis Boak who last week rolled an ankle against Melbourne and went on to dominate proceedings after coming back onto the field.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley said he was hopeful Polec would pull up fit for the Swans game during his post-match press conference, while head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au after the game he would be assessed during the week as per the club's normal procedures.

"We'll see how Jared pulls up at recovery and review him at training during the week like we normally would," Burgess said.

"We're hopeful he will be OK for next Saturday, but will need to see how he pulls up."

Aaron Young also left the ground with shoulder discomfort midway through the game after being slung into the ground during a tackle, but returned to play out the game.
