DOM Cassisi and Jasper Pittard will be assessed at training this week for a possible return to Port Adelaide's side when it travels over the border to face Carlton this Sunday.

Cassisi missed last Saturday's match against Richmond as a late withdrawal with hamstring soreness.

Pittard has been managed over several weeks as he recovers from a hip flexor complaint.

Travis Boak told reporters today the pair would undergo a fitness test at training in the lead up to selection.

"He (Cassisi) and Jasper will go though fitness tests this week and it would be great to get both of those guys back," Boak said.

"Obviously Dom and his leadership and his ability to win the ball around stoppages is fantastic and Jasper and his ball use would be great to have back in the side."

Brett Ebert is a four-week prospect for a return from adductor surgery as his rehabilitation continues to be managed, while Jackson Trengove is now eight weeks away from a return from foot surgery.

He has now served two weeks of a minimum eight-week period on the long term injury list.
