The Port Adelaide Football Club extends its best wishes to former assistant coach Dean Bailey and his family as he battles ill-health

The Port Adelaide Football Club extends its best wishes to former assistant coach Dean Bailey and his family as he battles ill-health.

The Adelaide Football Club this afternoon advised that Bailey has taken indefinite leave after being treated for fluid on his lung. The underlying cause has been identified as cancer within his chest.

The thoughts and wishes of the Port Adelaide Football Club are with Dean, Caron, Darcy and Mitchell, along with the Adelaide Football Club community.

Hinkley to hand over to Carr at season’s end

Ken Hinkley, Port Adelaide’s longest serving AFL coach, has informed the club he will step aside from the senior coaching role at season’s end. Josh Carr will replace Hinkley as senior coach for season 2026.
