A string of key players are pressing for selection ahead of Port Adelaide’s big game against Sydney this week.

Dom Cassisi, Brett Ebert and Jasper Pittard have all been cleared for selection following their return from injury.

Former captain Cassisi’s recovery from a hamstring injury has come at an opportune time as the selection committee look to cover the loss of skipper Travis Boak.

Boak has been sidelined for two weeks with a finger injury.

Pittard trained well today as he pushed for a senior recall following an extended recovery from his Round 4 hip flexor injury.

Ebert has also been cleared to return to football this week and could find himself in the mix if the coaches decide to change up the forward line.

Of the Power’s SANFL listed players, Aaron Young was a standout in the Magpies’ win over the Redlegs on the weekend.

He finished with 24 possessions, eight clearances and five inside-50s.

If Jarrad Redden can’t recover from his shoulder injury, Brent Renouf may be considered for selection as a second ruckman after he out-duelled his opponent on the weekend, finishing with 24 hit outs.

Sam Colquhoun and Andrew Moore also impressed at SANFL level.

Both won a stack of the footy and put their hands up for a senior recall along with Campbell Heath who shutdown his opponent and won 17 possessions.

Enemy Lines: The Swans
Sydney coach John Longmire has already confirmed the return of prized recruit Kurt Tippett for the Swans.

The key forward may be joined in the team by speedster Lewis Jetta who looks to have recovered from a shin knock that sidelined him for the Swans Round 11 demolition of the Crows.

Youngster Brandon Jack could be the one to make way for Jetta after a quiet performance as sub in round 11, while Tippett will come straight in for the injured Shane Mumford.

Sam Reid may also be in contention if he can prove his fitness.
