THE Port Adelaide Football Club wishes to again thank its Members and Supporters for their loyalty this week, with many renewing or joining up on top of the overwhelming response to our Foundation Believers and Supporters debt reduction campaign.

Back In Black - Help Reduce the Debt

We wish to reassure you that hysterical media speculation and public comment in recent days is unfounded. The Club will meet the AFL and the SANFL in coming weeks to discuss long-term funding arrangements that will take us to Adelaide Oval. Those talks need to run their course and there is little more we can say until that happens.

However, we believe the future is bright for ALL levels of football in South Australia.

We also wish to assure all Members and Supporters that at this stage there has been no discussion about any possible conditions on any agreement.

Comment surrounding the possibility that the Magpies no longer continue in the SANFL could not be further from the truth. The strategy to re-unite the Club last year has been a great success, reuniting our people and attracting over 36,200 Members, adding over $1 million to the consolidated financial position of the Club.

The AFL has acknowledged recently that this strategy has exceeded financial expectations and is an important part of the $2m plus improvement in our earnings compared with last year.

We will keep you informed throughout the coming process.

Remember that this Sunday is the chance for you to show the world what Port Adelaide means to you, with both our teams - the Magpies and the Power - sharing the stage in a double-header.

As President Brett Duncanson said in his letter to Members and Supporters “It has been a challenging week for us all, but at the Port Adelaide Football Club we are ALL up to a challenge. We always have been and we always will be. WE ARE PORT ADELAIDE.”

Stand up for your Club and join us at AAMI Stadium on Sunday when the Magpies take on Sturt from 12.45pm followed by the Power’s clash with Carlton at 4.10pm.
