SCANS today are expected to confirm a tear in the ACL of Robbie Gray's right knee, which would require a full reconstruction.

A decision on the timing of the surgery will be made following consultation with the surgeon this afternoon.

Gray went up in a fourth-quarter marking contest and landed straight-legged in a classic 'hyper-extension' motion after being knocked off balance in mid-air.

He was stretchered off with just 30 seconds remaining.

General Manager - Football Operations Peter Rohde indicated Gray would not undergo LARS surgery.

"If he has a normal reconstruction he will be ready to start pre-season and ready to start in round one next year. But it has a bit to do with his age as well," Rohde said.
