Dear Members and Supporters
Have you recovered yet?
I wouldn’t have wanted the ball in anyone else’s hands at that moment, but still couldn’t force myself to believe!
I owe Robbie an apology, and was just so pleased to see the grit in the team in that last 10 minutes.
To come from behind after six weeks on the road, an early start, two men down and a couple of goal square mishaps says a lot about their mindset.
Things are bubbling along ok.
Hope you found the ticketing process easy to handle for this week’s game against St Kilda.
With a bigger ticket allocation available this week, we opted for a different process, which we hope has provided most of our members with a fair opportunity to grab a ticket.
Demand was strong with almost 19,000 tickets being allocated on the first day of release.
There are tickets still available for our members, so use your eligible barcodes and we’d love to see you at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
A shout out to our membership and merchandise teams who have been run off their feet over the past few weeks.
Demand is really high at the moment, and with a bank of home games coming up we expect it to build further.
If you are experiencing delays or slower than usual responses to your queries, it’s because we are running with a lean team.
They’re doing a fantastic job and we appreciate your understanding of the situation.
The next five weeks of footy are mouth-watering.
Strong Melbourne teams, all playing good footy…in big timeslots. We couldn’t ask for more.
Kenny and the boys have been superb thus far, now we can lean in and lend a hand.
Off field, we’re slowly emerging from lockdown.
The Prison Bar campaign continues, and we’re loving the banter!
Isn’t it incredible the impact this guernsey has on people…friends and foe alike!
We are putting the finishing touches on our proposal to the AFL Commission and have officially requested an opportunity to present.
About 80% of our staff are back in some capacity.
But we are not fully operational.
Game day events and hospitality are still very restricted.
The Port Club and Prince restaurants / bistros remain closed for the time being.
We are about to expand on our history collections at the Port Club so stay tuned for some news on these.
95% of our staff are still working remotely, with ASPHQ still operating as a quarantine zone for the football group.
Our mindset is very much about ensuring that the football program has everything it needs to continue to perform.
The rest of the Club will slowly re-emerge.
The harsh reality is that this recovery may take well into next year to complete, and we will not return exactly the same.
All of this work is being done now.
For the time being, could I ask for your continued patience. I know we all would like this to be over, so that we can return to normal.
That’s not realistic in the immediate short term.
Our mindset is to get in behind the boys, do everything we can to support them and simply enjoy every moment of this unbelievable season.
Like they are!
It seems to be working!
See you at the footy…from a distance of 1.5m!
