PORT ADELAIDE’s Sam Mayes has been offered a ban by the AFL for a bump on a Western Bulldogs opponent in his side’s win on Monday night.
Mayes was charged with rough conduct for a high bump on Bulldog Josh Dunkley in the first quarter of the 13-point win at Adelaide Oval, which kicked off Round 10.
Based on the available evidence, the incident has been assessed as careless conduct of medium impact and high contact.
The 26-year-old can accept a one-match suspension if he enters an early guilty plea, meaning he would miss Port Adelaide’s clash with Richmond on Saturday afternoon at Adelaide Oval.

He can accept a $500 sanction with an early guilty plea.
Port’s team for the game against the reigning Premiers will be named on Friday evening, with first bounce at 4:05pm ACST.
