TRAVIS BOAK received nine votes in the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award from the coaches for his performance in Port Adelaide’s one-point loss to Greater Western Sydney.
Boak collected 40 disposals, seven clearances, six inside 50s and five marks against the Giants on Saturday night. The former skipper has now risen to fifth in the overall standings after Round 19.
Rebounding defender Riley Bonner (three votes) and star forward Robbie Gray (two) were the other two Power players to be recognised by the coaches.
GWS defenders Phil Davis (seven) and Nick Haynes (five) were among the best on Saturday night, with their intercept marking a highlight for the Giants.
Jeremy Finlayson and Jeremy Cameron each kicked three goals to earn themselves three votes and one vote respectively.
Around the competition, Patrick Cripps (Carlton), Josh Kennedy (West Coast), Seb Ross (St Kilda) and Tom Hawkins (Geelong) received the perfect 10 votes.
Tim Kelly (Geelong) still leads the competition but Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs) and Cripps are closing in.
