BRENDON AH CHEE has pulled off a remarkable achievement, winning not one but two coaches’ awards at Port Adelaide’s best and fairest count.
The 22-year-old made his AFL debut against North Melbourne in Round 3 in his fourth season on the Power’s list, and mixed duties in the national competition and SANFL throughout the year.
The award at AFL level was bestowed on Ah Chee for his status as the Power’s most improved player – difficult to argue given his regular selection at AFL level, either as a substitute or full-game player.
He pipped Jack Hombsch and Sam Gray who were nominees for the merit.
At SANFL level, the award is voted on by each of the Magpies senior coaching panel and has traditionally been awarded to the player who best displays the team’s internal values.
Ah Chee won the same award last year.
