Hitchcock was put on the long-term injury list after injuring his shoulder during the pre-season.

Tuesday night’s training was his first with the squad for some twelve weeks, and the 19 year old is looking forward to getting back into the action.

“It was pretty disappointing to hurt my shoulder during the pre-season but I’m really looking forward to getting back out at training this week,” he said.

"Twelve weeks is a long time to be out of action but I’m definitely looking to get out and have a run around.”

The small forward joined the Power in 2010 after being selected from Glenelg.

He will line up for the Tigers in the SANFL this weekend where he will look to build towards resumption in the Power sometime this year.

“I’ll be back at Glenelg this week in League or Reserves and will be hoping to put together my game back there.

“It’s important that I just get back into the rhythm of competitive footy and that’s the approach I’m taking.

“Obviously it’s just about getting out there and getting through the first couple of weeks and to keep improving from there, especially working on my forward pressure and around-the-ball competitiveness.

“I’ll keep working on those things and look to build from there.”

Hitchcock was positive after his first full run back with the squad and is feeling comfortable in both his shoulder and his place within the team.

“It’s good to be back out with the boys and having a run around. I’m feeling good all round and I’m pretty excited to be back!”
