PRIZED recruit Chad Wingard will play in next Sunday's NAB Cup following a polished display in the club's internal trial at Alberton Oval on Friday night.

The Power's top draft pick took several outstanding marks and had the crowd collectively gasping at moments of sublime skill.

Coach Matthew Primus all but assured he'll make the Power's NAB Cup squad.

"We'll pick a squad of 34 and I think his form over the last couple of weeks would get him in there," Primus said.

"He's going about his footy in a great manner. "

Despite naming Wingard a certain starter next Sunday, Primus said the 18-year-old's fitness base isn't where it needs to be to play regular AFL football.

"He's classy with the ball, but to play a full game and spend a bit of time out there is where we've got to get him to because he's probably not quite there yet."

Brad Ebert also shone in the twilight hit-out, looking set to lead the Power's midfield in 2012.

"Brad can find the ball and works pretty hard when we don't have it," Primus said.

"They've (Wingard and Ebert) done a fair bit of work this summer break and those guys, since we've been playing games, have been in pretty good form.

"So we've just got to keep continuing that and lifting the standards and intensity and it'll go up again next Sunday."

Robbie Gray found plenty of the ball and kicked two goals, while young recruit Brendon Ah Chee put his hand up for NAB Cup selection booting three majors.

Young guns John Butcher and Jasper Pittard skipped the runaround due to general soreness, but Primus was confident they'll lineup next Sunday.

"He (Butcher) got sore when we played a game on Monday and if it had been NAB Cup he probably would have played.

"It's nothing serious or anything and Jasper's a little bit the same.

"They're young kids who have had a bit of history with injury so we just want to make sure they're right come round one."
