PORT ADELAIDE’s Tom Rockliff made 19% of AFL Fantasy coaches very happy over the weekend when he top-scored in the competition with a remarkable 166 points.
Mitchell’s value increased by an incredible $50,000 on that performance alone.
Port Adelaide had some other stars well, with four in total passing 100 points, as well as some players worth considering ahead of round 2.
Tom Rockliff (mid - $650,000)
He used to go by the moniker “the Pig” because of his ability to gather ridiculous numbers of possessions but that nickname slipped away in 2018 in his first year at the Power.
It appears the Pig is back after 44 disposals, 10 marks, eight tackles and four clearances.
While his 166 AFL Fantasy points was short of his career-best 190, and his possession tally was short of his best 48, Rockliff has now managed more than 40 touches in consecutive games (after racking up 41 against North Melbourne in JLT2) and appears fit, lean and injury free. He is only owned by 19% of coaches so if you don’t have him in your team, get him, and get him now before he gets too expensive!
At just $3900 per point scored he represents incredible value already.
Travis Boak (forward - $667,000)
Not far behind Rockliff is Travis Boak, who ranked equal third in the entire competition for points with his 144.
Boak had 34 disposals, nine marks, five clearances, eight tackles and a goal in an impressive return to the midfield.
The former skipper has always been fit but spent much of last season playing on the half forward flank. A return to the midfield seems to have agreed with him. He’s a popular dual position player who saw his value rise by $34,000 out of the weekend’s game.
And what’s more, he’s only owned by 4% of the competition so if he can continue his form, he’ll be a fantastic option, at just $4600 per point scored.
Justin Westhoff (mid/fwd - $750,000)
The twelfth highest scorer across the league, the versatile utility increased his value by $10,000 with his total of 120 points.
Westhoff had 18 disposals and nine marks to go with five goals straight against the Demons, replicating his efforts from Round 23 where he also booted five majors against the Bombers.
While he comes with an expensive price tag, he is fit, reliable and rarely misses games.
The bearded warrior is owned by just 16% of the competition and would be eager to perform well in his 250th game this weekend against Carlton.
