Here's what the papers are saying with one day to go in the official trade period....
Ah Chee, Lobbe likely to stay
While the Suns showed interested in big-bodied Power midfielder Brendon Ah Chee early on in the trade period and ruckman Matthew Lobbe has been linked with Richmond, both are likely to stay at Alberton in 2017.
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps told NAB Trade Radio it was unlikely the club would be moving any players at this stage, but could look to further improve their draft position.
Following a three-way trade with the Lions and Suns, Port Adelaide now holds three picks inside the top 30 - picks 9, 19, 30, 49, 85 and 103 in the 2016 National Draft.
O’Meara standoff
Suns star Jaeger O’Meara is no closer to a move interstate with Gold Coast rejecting Hawthorn’s most recent offer, according to afl.com.au.
Talks have again come to a halt after the Suns knocked back Hawthorn’s picks 10 and 48 in exchange for O’Meara – an offer labelled “low-ball” by Gold Coast chairman Tony Cochrane.
They’re reportedly seeking an experienced player to sweeten the deal, and are prepared to play hard ball over the young midfielder in the final days of the trade period to strengthen the experience on their list.
Essendon have also reportedly shown interest in striking a deal for O’Meara.
Prestia talks continue
According to the Herald Sun, talks around moving Suns’ Dion Prestia to Richmond are edging closer.
The Age reports the proposed deal sees Prestia and a second-round draft pick sent to the Tigers in exchange for this year’s pick six and a future second round pick.
A deal is expected to be completed by Wednesday evening.
Deledio to Giants?
GWS is reportedly making a late play for Richmond’s Brett Deledio, according to the Herald Sun.
The Tiger was originally tipped to make the move to Geelong, but with the clubs unable to reach a suitable deal, contracted Deledio was expected to stay at Richmond in 2017.
But with GWS showing interest in the star midfielder, a move to Sydney could be on the cards if the two clubs can reach an agreement.
Gibbs trade
Carlton and Adelaide continue to negotiate a deal which would see Blues midfielder Bryce Gibbs head home to South Australia.
The Age reports the deal could involve Adelaide’s pick 13 and a second round pick in the 2017 draft for Gibbs, or Adelaide’s 2017 first round pick and pick 13 this year in exchange for the star midfielder and Carlton’s 2017 second-round pick.
According to afl.com.au the two clubs met on Tuesday morning, with the Blues targeting Crows Charlie Cameron and Mitch McGovern as part of the deal.
Vardy shows interest in Eagles
Geelong tall man Nathan Vardy is set to make the move west, after indicating his preference to join the Eagles on Tuesday morning.
afl.com.au says the Cat attended a medical test at West Coast last week, and the Eagles are likely to send a fourth-round draft pick in exchange for the ruck-forward.
Richmond and Geelong in talks over Caddy?
On Wednesday afternoon, Channel 7’s Mark Stevens reported Geelong’s Josh Caddy is set to head to Richmond.
According to Stevens, the Tigers are likely to send Pick 27 the Cats’ way as part of the trade.
