After going down in a marking contest against Essendon last Tuesday, Schulz's confirmed foot sprain had many of the Port Adelaide faithful worrying whether their number one forward would suit up against the Blues in the twilight match on Sunday week.
He should be available for return within the next fortnight, which would put him in a ready place for the opening game of the season.
The forward himself took to Twitter to speak of his improved comfort with the foot sprain:
Foot feeling better this wk. Confident I will be out there with the boys Rd1. Thanks for all the well wishes. #weareportadelaide

Meanwhile rookie midfielder Sam Gray will be available for selection against South Adelaide this weekend, when Port Adelaide's SANFL League lineup takes on Brad Gotch's Panthers at Alberton Oval on Saturday morning.
He is the only available player on the injury list this week, with Schulz and three defenders still 1-2 weeks away.
